Sherwood and Muriel Taylor are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.

They were married in Atlanta in 1946 and served as missionaries in Brazil for over 33 years before returning to Georgia. They now live in Powder Springs and have been faithful FOX 5 viewers for over twenty years.

They met in 1944 at Columbia Bible College, now known as Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. He got her attention by flipping a butter dish in her hand when she asked him to pass the butter during a meal. It worked and they were married June 14, 1946, at North Atlanta Baptist Church.

Sherwood received a Masters of Divinity at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur.  In 1952, with three little girls in tow, the couple sailed for Brazil, where they learned the language and worked as missionaries for over 33 years. The couple had three more children while residing in Brazil.  Sherwood and Muriel left Brazil in 1985 and now live with family in Powder Springs and to this day still read the Bible and pray together every night.

Sherwood and Muriel have fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two more on the way!

Congratulations!
