ATLANTA - MARTA police say an arrest has been made in connection to a deadly shooting Monday evening at the Oakland City bus loop in southwest Atlanta.

Officers with MARTA Police responded to reports of gunfire just after 6 p.m. at the Oakland City bus loop. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. A large perimeter was quickly established as officers secured the area, and one person was later taken into custody.

Authorities have not released the name of the suspected shooter. Additionally, the victim was not identified. It’s also unclear whether the investigation has impacted bus or rail service in the area.
