Marietta votes on offering paid maternity leave

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — The Marietta City Council voted to provide paid maternity leave to the city's employees.

The proposal which passed would provide four weeks of paid time off for mothers giving birth. The policy would not apply to fathers, those adopting or those becoming foster parents.

Council members will vote on the proposal during their meeting on Wednesday night.
