Man accused of setting girlfriend on fire in court
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - A court hearing Thursday for the man accused of setting his ex-girlfriend of fire last month.
Clayton County police said Melvin Woodard doused her with gasoline and lit her on fire. Police said he then drove her to Grady Memorial Hospital, leaving her there before driving off in her car.
Authorities captured him several days later hiding in her attic.
She remains in Grady Memorial Hospital being treated for her burns.
