How to Stop Smuggled Cellphones

Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Homer Bryson gave FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai a firsthand look at what the FOX 5 I-Team has been reporting for years. Smuggled cellphones in state prisons have led to increased dangers both inside and outside the prison walls.

Commissioner Pai said this is a national problem. He promised to work with his fellow commissioners and cell service providers to come up with legal ways to make prison cellphones useless.

FOX 5 I-Team Reporter Randy Travis talked to Death Row inmates who said they've never seen a cellphone on their block. But authorities admit they've recovered smuggled phones there too, perhaps the most secure area in the entire prison system.
