Georgia's Board of Pardons and Paroles has new chairman
ATLANTA (AP) - The State Board of Pardons and Paroles has elected a new chairman, the first change in the leadership position in three years.
The board, in a news release, said it had elected James Mills to the position for Fiscal Year 2018 during Tuesday's board meeting. He will assume the role July 1.
Mills, who was appointed to the board in November 2011, has served as vice chairman for the past three years and succeeds Terry Barnard.
The board also elected Braxton Cotton as vice chairman.
