Fatal house fire in Jefferson

JEFFERSON, Ga. - A deadly fire tears through a Jefferson home.

It happened early Wednesday morning at a home on Ivie Street.

Investigators said one person died in the blaze.

Officials believe Leroy Jackson was home alone at the time.

According to fire officials, it looks like a cigarette caused the fire.

They did not find a working smoke alarm in the home.
