Whoever said learning isn’t fun clearly never has been to Vanderlyn Elementary School in Dunwoody.

The school held their 5th annual vocabulary parade Friday morning allowing students to dress up as words.

The idea for the parade comes from the book “Miss Alaineus: A Vocabulary Disaster.”

FOX 5 Photojournalist Chris Francis was there to see his daughter Charlotte in the parade. She dressed as an “iCloud.”

The school allowed students to be creative, with either a literal or silly costume representing the words they chose. They also challenged the children to learn words that are a little harder than their age level.

The word on the street was the parade was a success.
