Doraville woman beaten and robbed on Valentine's Day
DORAVILLE - A Doraville woman is recovering after an ambush robbery on Valentine's Day. It happened around 7 a.m. as Susana Pedro was coming home from work.
She said two men wearing ski masks grabbed her and punched her. She said the two men suddenly appeared as she was opening her door.
Pedro said one of the men grabbed her hair. The other one grabbed her face. Then one of them grabbed her wallet with two hundred dollars cash in it.
She said it was better her children were with a neighbor, because she believes the men would have done something much worse.
Kevin Alives said neighbors keep a watchful eye on kids playing in the neighborhood. He said residents know each other and suspect the ambush robbers were from outside the complex.
Pedro said she believes she was targeted.
Alives said he hopes the robbery encourages residents to not carry so much cash around with them.
DeKalb County police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
