DeKalb County police officers saves child's life

A DeKalb County police officer may have been off-duty but he wasn't off the job. He knew exactly what to do when a child had trouble breathing.

On Tuesday, Officer D. Jones was at an open house for his daughter's school when he heard some yelling for help.

A little boy was having trouble breathing because he had something stuck in his throat.

Officer Jones picked up the boy and was able to dislodge the object.

Medics were called to the scene to check out the child and he appeared okay.

DeKalb County Police Department posted his story on their Facebook page Thursday writing:

“A HATS OFF and THANK YOU to Officer Jones for just doing what police people do!”
