Clayton County firefighters battle massive townhome blaze

Firefighters spent most of Monday evening making sure a massive Clayton County townhome fire did not rekindle.

It happened at the in the 5500 block of Park Place. Clayton County Fire officials said a 3-unit townhome was damaged in the fire. The middle unit sustained heavy fire damage while the other two had visible smoke and water damage.

Luckily, firefighters said no one was home during the fire. There were no reports of any of the firefighters being injured while battling the blaze.

FOX 5's Mario Page arrived shortly after firefighters started to strike the massive blaze. Flames were shooting about 30 feet into the air.

The Red Cross was assisting five people who were displaced because of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
