$5,000 reward in search for Atlanta campus gunman

Police in Atlanta asks again for the public's help as its investigation into a shootout on the Atlanta University Campus reaches an impasse.

There is a good image of man investigators believe was involved in the gunplay. Four students, who were not targeted, were struck or grazed by the bullets. Fortunately, none suffered critical injuries.

"It is unacceptable for these students, who were trying to enjoy themselves before the start of school, to have to dodge bullets," said James White, an investigator.

Council member Cleta Winslow, who represents the neighborhood, added money to the reward fund bringing the total $5,000.

Typically, that is a sufficient amount of cash to bring in strong leads.

So why are things different, at least to this point? White said it is possible the man in the photo is a visitor to the city and viewers are not familiar with the image.

The investigator added those who were involved in the gunplay and were able to escape likely are not going to speak and implicate themselves.
