Burgers with Buck: Cherokee Cattle Company

Gus Tselios is larger than life. When the owner of six Cobb County restaurants including Marietta Diner, Marietta Fish Market, Casa Grande, Yeero Village, Pasta Bella, and Cherokee Cattle Company does things, he does them in a big way. Case in point, #BurgersWithBuck #169 from CCC.

Per usual, #BWB showed up at Cherokee Cattle Company, excited about featuring a signature burger. Knowing Gus (a longtime friend of Good Day Atlanta), we were prepared to make a rare exception and feature two burgers. What we weren’t fully prepared for, but probably should have been, was the 15 burgers and fries, onion rings, chips, etc., and all the trimmings that the staff brought out from the kitchen of this popular Marietta restaurant.

It took some doing, but with Gus’ help, we narrowed the choices down to two, the Fried Mac and Cheese Burger Extreme and the Pastrami Smash Burger.

Let’s start with the Fried M&C which starts with a ½ pound Angus beef pattie topped with macaroni and cheese with alfredo, molded like a crab cake and fried. On top of that goes melted cheddar cheese, and then he makes it ‘extreme’ by adding bacon and grilled onions.

Now if that’s not enough for the burger lover in you, this week you get a little more bang for your #BurgersWithBuck as we also feature the Pastrami Smash Burger. This one begins with two, ½ pound Angus beef patties. ‘Smashed’ between the patties is grilled pastrami, grilled onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing.

You get the idea. His motto is “go big, or go home”, and let’s just say we didn’t go home.

First of all, this is just a tiny sampling of the burgers on the menu at Cherokee Cattle Company, but the news gets even better. These same burgers are also available at Marietta Diner.

Enjoy! I know I did. And thanks to Gus, I may have to break out my fat suits. Haha!
