Grayson wins Georgia Class 7-A title in overtime

ATLANTA (AP) -- Will Van Pamelen missed two extra points, but kicked a 25-yard field goal in overtime to give No. 1-ranked Grayson a 23-20 win over No. 2 Roswell in the Georgia High School Association's Class AAAAAAA championship Saturday at the Georgia Dome.

Roswell had a chance to tie the game in overtime, but Turner Barckhoff missed a 32-yard field goal wide to the right.

Grayson (14-1) won its second state championship. Roswell (14-1) finished runner-up for the second straight season.

The game went into overtime when Malik Willis threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Kentrell Barber as time expired, tying the game at 20.

Grayson had erased a 13-6 deficit when Chase Brice threw two touchdown passes and a two-point conversion to Jaquavious Lane in the fourth period.

Brice, a Clemson commitment, completed 18 of 27 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.

Willis, a Virginia Tech commitment, completed 19 of 30 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns.
