GHSA Championships leading to more girls joining wrestling

Girls joining high school wrestling teams is nothing new, but a change made by the Georgia High School Association in 2019 is helping bring more girls to the mat. In February of 2019 the GHSA held its first all-female state wrestling championships. Champions were crowned in 10 different weight classes.

Starting in the 2020-2021 school year, girls flag football will be an official high school sport across Georgia. The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the girls flag football state championship was being held later in the day.

Blessed Trinity wins 3rd straight state title

The Blessed Trinity Titans took home their their third straight state championship with a dominant final possession. The Titans beat Oconee County, 17-14, in the Class 4A title game on Saturday at Georgia State Stadium.
