"Next thing you know -I'm at gunpoint," the man said, who doesn't want his face or name known. "He just took out a gun and said stuff to me...'don't say anything,' for clean context," he said, and told FOX 5 his cash was taken.

The robbery happened Sunday night inside the Westmar Student Lofts down the street from the Georgia Tech campus, as he went to visit his girlfriend, also a student at Tech. He is a student at the School of Audio Engineering downtown.

A robber ambushed the young man in the hallway of the fifth floor. Atlanta Police said there have been several robberies at the complex this year.

"[My girlfriend] was pretty terrified. She walks around with one of her roommates now," he said, and also tells us other students are very concerned for their safety.

Officers look for ties to other robberies near campus; on Aug. 31, FOX 5 told you about two Georgia Tech students robbed inside their off-campus apartment on Lovejoy Street NW, and tied up by the robbers with socks.

Property managers at Westmar gave FOX 5 this statement Tuesday evening:

"We work diligently to provide a secure and safe living environment for all of our residents.  We have around the clock security with Allied Barton, security cameras, panic buttons and electronic FOB locking systems on exterior and unit doors and dead bolts on bedrooms for individual privacy and security.   We also encourage all of our residents to be aware of their neighbors and guests and to report any suspicious activity to the security guards or Atlanta Police Department. For our over 1,200 residents and their guests, security is a top priority."
