Possible car theft ring investigation in Covington

COVINGTON, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Covington Police arrested three people in connection with a possible car theft ring.

Officers say the three showed up to Ginn Dodge with fraudulent documents and tried to buy a car.

Once the dealership realized the papers were fake, they called the police.

Authorities interviewed the three men and discovered the car they were in was stolen from a dealership in South Carolina.

That's when officers searched the stolen car.

Police are working to identify the cars those keys belong to.

They're now also investigating whether or not this is a bigger operation, beyond these three men.
