Knife-wielding man robs woman in downtown Atlanta elevator

ATLANTA - Atlanta Police want to get a robbery suspect off the streets.

Investigators say the man robbed a woman at knifepoint inside an elevator at a downtown Atlanta office building.

Police say surveillance video shows the man, with a pink bookbag and pants, walking into the office building on Marietta Street around 8 a.m.

They say once he was alone with the victim in the elevator, he took out a large blade and demanded her cell phone.

The victim spoke with FOX 5 over the phone about the terrifying robbery.

"It was bigger than your ordinary pocket knife. I was really really scare afterward," she said. "I think I had a panic attack."

Detectives say cameras also caught the knife-welding robber running from the scene.

Now they're depending on the public to find him.
