Hundreds take to Atlanta streets for '1,000 Men March'
ATLANTA - The Women's March wasn't the only march to move through metro Atlanta on Saturday.
The 1,000 Men March aims to transform some of Atlanta's most crime-stricken neighborhoods by being a positive presence in those areas.
The men involved with the group gathered at Morehouse College for an introductory rally before going out into the communities.
And while "men" may be in the march's name, supporters say that women played a key role.
"As women, we have to understand that we have a role in fixing our communities," State Rep. Park Cannon said, "but it is right next to our brothers."
Organizers say around 500 men showed up for the event, but they hope to have even more participants moving forward.
