Hiram officer's quick thinking saves family, home
HIRAM, Ga. - A Hiram police officer protects, serves, and puts out fires.
Officer Matt Winfrey was patrolling around Powder Springs Street this weekend when he noticed a house was on fire.
Officer Winfrey grabbed a nearby water hose while neighbors grabbed buckets of water. Both were able to put out the blaze before the fire department arrived.
The homeowners were inside and didn’t even know their house was on fire.
They think a cigarette butt thrown in a flower bed cause the fire.
