Big Dave's Cheesesteaks on Jonesboro Road forced to close after pipe burst

A popular Atlanta eatery, Big Dave’s Cheesesteak, is addressing water damage caused by a pipe burst at its Jonesboro location.

Owner Derrick Hayes was seen surveying the damage on Thursday after the incident forced the restaurant to close temporarily.

The setback comes just days after the grand opening of Big Dave’s Cheesesteak’s new downtown Atlanta location on Marietta Street.

Hayes is no stranger to water-related issues. His original downtown location was permanently closed last year due to a major water main break that disrupted service for residents and businesses for several days.

The pipe burst was most likely caused by the below freezing temperatures experienced by metro Atlanta for the last few days. However, this has not been confirmed as the cause.

The Jonesboro Road location is expected to reopen soon after cleanup efforts are completed.
