Ga. theater issues weekend curfew

A Fayetteville theater is cracking down on underage movie fans by enacting a curfew for children under 18 who show up without an adult.

Cinemark Tinseltown will no longer allow children 17 or under without an adult after 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings without a guardian who is 21 or older.

“I should be able to drop my kid off at the movies and come back and pick him up,” said parent Sholette Johnson.

Some parents FOX 5 News spoke with said the 6 p.m. curfew is ridiculous. Robert Cortez was dropping off his 14-year-old daughter when he learned about the curfew.

“A lot of parents cannot be here Fridays and Saturdays, and especially if since I have a younger son. You know my daughter can see a PG-13 movie, but I am not going to take him into see ‘Barber Shop,’” said Cortez.
