Airbnb activates Disaster Response Program for Harvey evacuees

Airbnb has announced it has activated its Disaster Response Program to help local residents in Texas who are affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The program is activated in the event of major emergencies and connects those who have been displaced, as well as emergency relief workers and volunteers who are assisting, find temporary accommodations with local Airbnb hosts who open their homes free of charge.

For Harvey, Airbnb has activated the program in Austin, San Antonio and Dallas and surrounding areas to help storm evacuees from now through September 1.
