Trump task force targets crime surge in Memphis
Memphis Safe Task Force, ordered by President Trump, is ramping up federal, state and local efforts to combat rising crime in Memphis. Authorities say the operation has led to more than 2,800 arrests and over 28,000 traffic citations since September 2025, along with increased traffic stops, warrants, and fugitive searches. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee says the intensified presence aims to bring violent crime numbers down.
