Bowdon head coach Richard Fendley says records don?t matter when it comes to small-town rivalries like Bowdon vs. Mount Zion. The longtime coach told FOX 5?s Kelly Price that with the schools only eight miles apart?and even cousins on opposite sides?the game is about pride and preparation. With 18 seniors who have never lost a playoff game, Fendley said his Red Devils know what it takes to win tough matchups and stay composed through the emotional highs and lows of a rivalry night.
Bowdon gymnasts break into Georgia?s elite eight
In Carroll County, FOX 5?s Game of the Week spotlighted more than football as the Bowdon High gymnastics team celebrated its rapid rise since launching in 2020. Coach Carrie Gay and her athletes shared how the small-school program broke into Georgia?s elite eight for the first time, earning recognition as some of the school?s strongest and most dedicated competitors ? even impressing their principal.

Congratulations to our High 5 Sports Team of the Week ? the Jackson County Panthers. Head coach Korey Mobbs has his squad off to a strong start this season. They celebrated Thursday morning with Paul Milliken live on Good Day Atlanta. Then last night, Jackson County improved to 5-1 with a win over Alcovy. And earlier this year, the Panthers made history by beating rival Clarke County for the first time ever.
