According to Joey Snapp, Running Backs Keith Marshall and Robert Kelley were in a Gamestop, just as customers when they heard an 11-year-old boy telling an employee that he has wanted an Xbox for years, but his parents couldn't afford it.
Snapp was in the store on Tuesday as well and posted on Facebook what happened next.
Marshall and Kelley went up to the boy and told him that they wanted to buy him an Xbox One for his birthday and to ask his mom to make sure it was ok.
The kid was in shock and went to get his mother. The mother came in wondering who wanted to buy her son an Xbox One.
“Ma’am my name is Keith Marshall and this is Rob Kelley and we play for the Washington Redskins and we would love to buy your son an Xbox One for his birthday," said Marshall.
Snapp says his "jaw hit the floor" while watching this unfold. He says the two NFL players bought the boy an Xbox, a game, and took pictures with him before going on about their day.
In his Facebook post, Snapp said, "I didn’t even know what to say. It was such a good moment from 2 guys who I will forever be a fan of from this day on."
When asked about this story on Twitter, Robert Kelley acknowledged it with a re-tweet. The Washington Redskins have also confirmed this story.
Without a post from Snapp, this act of random kindness never would have been seen by the public.
