The Alma G. Davis foundation is hosting its fifth annual "Walk a Mile in Their Shoes" 5k to support survivors of domestic abuse and assault.

Participants are invited to a 1-mile walk and will be partnered with a survivor of assault or domestic violence. This allows the survivor to open up and share their story while enlightening the participant about the true struggle in escaping domestic violence or surviving an assault.

Alma G. Davis started the foundation to raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence. Georgia ranks 14th in the nation to domestic violence crimes.

You can find out more information about the walk on the foundation's website.
