Tree cutter killed in accident in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Georgia man is dead after a tree trimming accident in DeKalb County.

Neighbors told FOX 5 the man works for a tree cutting service.

He was up in a tree outside a home on the 4300 block of Pleasant Forest Road when there was some kind of accident.

Neighbor Chad Freeman said the man got hit by a rope, became injured, and ended up hanging in the tree.

"The police got here. It took them probably an hour and half to get to him because it was such a mess. It was a dangerous situation and it was hard." Freeman said. "They did everything they could."

According to witnesses, one of the man's co-workers even climbed up the tree to try to rescue him, but there wasn't anything they could do.

The identity of the man has not been released.
