Terrorist drug lord known as 'The Spider' extradited to US

An alleged drug lord was extradited from Colombia to the United States on Monday.
Geovany Andres Rojas known as "The Spider" was handed over to U.S. officials and arrived at a location in San Diego, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of California.
Rojas faces drug trafficking and terrorism charges and is expected to make an initial court appearance on Monday.

Geovany Andres Rojas, a Colombian national and alleged narco-terrorist and cocaine trafficker, was captured by Columbian authorities in 2025 and a year later the country’s president ordered Rojas’ extradition to continue following approval from the Supreme Court of Columbia.
The U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of California noted in that Rojas served as the spokesman and leader of Comandos de la Frontera, a paramilitary organization with roughly 1,000 members operating in southwestern Colombia.

Rojas identified himself as a leader of Comandos de la Frontera, posing with weapons and armed fighters on social media and in interviews with news outlets on behalf of the terrorist group.
"Colombia and the Department of Justice are making a clean sweep of narcoterrorists, starting with Araña," said U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon in the release.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of California, the drug trafficking and narco-terrorism charges against Rojas are connected to a probe which revealed that Comandos de la Frontera, under Rojas’ leadership, profited from the development and of cocaine in southwestern Colombia, maintaining control of its territory using weapons and violence.
