Suspected kidnappers from Georgia caught near bridge to NYC
FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) — Police say two suspected kidnappers from Georgia and their victim were found during a vehicle stop near a bridge leading to New York City.
Joe Pentangelo of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says officers stopped the car en route to the George Washington Bridge Thursday morning. They recognized the vehicle matching the description of one involved in a reported kidnapping in Georgia.
The 39-year-old victim from Gwinnett County, Georgia had been stabbed in the left leg.
The suspects were identified as Ishmael Castejon-Gulzar, 24, of Atlanta and Ricardo Coacio Reyes, 30, Norcross, Georgia.
They are charged with kidnapping, carjacking, aggravated assault and related offenses. They are being on $2 million bail each in the Bergen County Jail.
The motive behind the alleged kidnapping is unclear. No attorney information is available.
