Stone Mountain woman arrested in deadly hit and run
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police have arrested a woman in connection with a deadly hit and run last weekend in Gwinnett County.
Brittany Amber Ashley, 32, of Stone Mountain, has been charged with one count of hit and run (death), and one count of homicide by vehicle.
The deadly collision happened shortly before midnight on Saturday in the 1300 block of Beaver Ruin Road near Arc Way.
Gwinnett County Police said 38-year-old Kevin Brown, of Norcross, was struck and killed while attempting to cross the roadway. Police said the driver, identified as Ashley, took off and never contacted 911.
Brown was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.
Police said Ashley was on her way to turn herself into authorities when investigators found her.
Ashley was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.
