Star 94.1's Jenn Hobby remains optimistic as daughter fights cancer
Jenn Hobby shared this adorable photo of baby Reese at CHOA with FOX 5 Digital Producer Katie Muse.
ATLANTA - Longtime Atlanta radio personality Jenn Hobby told FOX 5 she’s remaining optimistic as her 11-month-old baby girl fights cancer.
Hobby, a co-host on "The Jeff & Jenn Show" on Star 94.1, announced last week her youngest daughter, Reese, had been diagnosed with cancer after doctors discovered a plum-sized tumor in her abdomen. Reese immediately started chemotherapy at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Tuesday, Hobby told FOX 5 her “lil angel” is responding quite well after completing her first round of treatment.
“She’s still very active, smiling, waving and currently dancing with her sister,” Hobby said. "We are very optimistic and hopeful."
Over the weekend, Hobby and her husband, Grant, were able to take their sweet girl home. She told us Reese will go back for three more rounds of chemo every 21 days before undergoing surgery.
"A marathon, but we're positively going to beat this!" Hobby said.
Hobby spoke with FOX 5's Katie Muse after returning to work Tuesday morning. It was her first full day back on the air since Reese's diagnosis.
"So good to have Jenn Hobby back on the show this AM," Hobby's co-host Jeff Dauler said on Facebook.
While Hobby took time off to be with her family, Dauler shared updates about baby Reese with Star 94.1 listeners and visited his dear friends in the hospital almost every day last week.
"I made Reese laugh today and it was the highlight of my year," Dauler said last Wednesday.
Hobby said she is turning to prayer and love during this difficult time and prays the chemotherapy works hard to fight her daughter's cancer, but spares her bright spirit. She also said she's thankful for the team of doctors who are working to help her baby battle this awful disease.
“We feel that we have the best team of doctors from CHOA,” Hobby told FOX 5.
This week, Star 94.1 shared a letter online from Hobby and her husband.
Dear friend and Star 94.1 family member,
As Grant and I have wrestled with the reality of Reese’s cancer diagnosis, we’ve also been comforted by the incredible staff at the Aflac Cancer Center located at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Egleston and Scottish Rite). In our family’s darkest hour, this team of doctors, nurses, and family specialists gave us hope that our 11-month-old daughter will beat cancer. Atlanta is so very fortunate to have some of the best pediatric doctors in the world dedicated to all better; dedicated to a world in which children don’t have cancer. To honor Reese and all the children who are enduring this brave fight, we invite you to donate to the Aflac Cancer Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Your donation provides a cure and, equally as important, it gives children and families hope.

I know Reese will never remember the months of hospitalizations, chemotherapy, and more generally, the toll cancer takes on a family. However, I do believe you and the Star 94.1 family can use her story of survival to put more good in the world. As her mom, I want her to know that she inspired our entire city to beat pediatric cancer.
Thank you for believing in Reese and her legacy…
With love,
Jenn and Grant
