Bullet-riddled vehicle stops in Roswell after road rage shooting

A road rage dispute turned violent Wednesday morning when a driver opened fire into another vehicle, wounding a man at a Cobb County intersection.

One person has been arrested.

What we know:

Roswell police responded around 11:13 a.m. to the area of Highway 92 and Laurel Lake Road after receiving a report of a person who had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Police said the victim was conscious, alert and breathing when first responders reached the scene.

According to preliminary information, the victim was shot in Cobb County and then drove into Roswell before stopping and seeking help.

Cobb County police, who took over the investigation, later confirmed to FOX 5 Atlanta that police received reports that a driver had fired multiple shots at another vehicle during an apparent road rage incident.

The victim, 57-year-old Kenneth Taylor, ultimately stopped in the City of Roswell and first responders rendered medical aid. First responders rushed Taylor to North Fulton Hospital to receive treatment for injuries that officials described as non-life-threatening.

While Taylor was being treated, police interviewed witnesses and the Real Time Crime Center combed through available camera footage. The digital surveillance trail led investigators to a gold SUV traveling toward Cherokee County, and detectives identified the suspect as 47-year-old Bashir Beal of Acworth.
