It happened in a home in the 6300 block of Grey Fox Way. Fulton County Police said two men entered the garage around 5 a.m., robbed the victim, and then shot him.

Nearby residents said they heard the shot, got up, looked, saw their neighbor’s car door open, but figured they were headed to work, so they went back to bed. It wasn’t until around 8 a.m. when they left their home that they noticed something was wrong.

"I was sitting there like ‘Hmm… Something strange about the neighbor, his garage is open and the car door still open…’ It was open at 5 o’clock this morning," said the neighbor, who did not want his name used for this story.

The neighbor said her boyfriend went to check on the neighbor and found him dead in the garage. He had been shot.

"It's just crazy. It' sad. He could have been a great person or something," the neighbor said.

Fulton County Police roped off the home for most of Thursday as they looked through several vehicles. They also called in a K-9 unit to assist.

As police worked to collect all the evidence, people who knew the victim arrived, clearly distraught over the news.

"It's just sad, so sad," one of the victim’s friends said.

Fulton County Police said the victim was attacked while he was on his way out the door to go to work. The suspects robbed and killed him.

Fulton County Police said they have collected video footage.

"It's too early to tell if random or not random," police at the scene said.

Whatever the reason, this murder has this neighborhood on edge.

"[It’s] too close to home… could have been any of us leaving this morning," said a neighbor.

Police said there have been several robberies in this area. An open record request revealed there have been more than a dozen robberies in the neighborhood since 2013.

Police have not released the victim's name and haven't made any arrests.
