Police locate missing 5-year-old DeKalb County girl, mother in custody
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - DeKalb County Police the 5-year-old girl who has been missing since July 20 has been found safe.
Police said Amaya Blanton was located and is safe. Dimesha Davis, 25, has been taken into custody by the Essex County Police Department in New Jersey.
A warrant was issued for Davis for interference with custody for not returning Blanton to her grandmother.
Police said the girl was last seen July 20 at the Pilot Gas Station off of Interstate 285 and Bouldercrest Road. Her grandmother said she was dropping off Blanton to spend time with her mother, whom she hadn't seen in months; last Tuesday, her grandmother said Davis sent her a text Blanton would not be coming home.
No word on when Blanton or Davis would be brought back to Georgia.
