A FOX 5 reporter heard police tell concerned neighbors: "He's good."

The situation started around 11:54 a.m. in 5500 block of Twin Lakes Drive, according to the South Fulton Police Department, when officers were called out to a domestic dispute.

Police said while the officers were speaking with the wife in the driveway, her husband grabbed the child and went back into the home, barricading himself inside with the child upstairs.

A hostage negotiator was able to convince the suspect to let the child go and surrender to officers, police said.

Police told FOX 5's Portia Bruner the man never threatened to harm the woman, but he is facing several charges stemming from the ordeal.

No one has been injured.
