Officials: Man grabs jackhammer from water employees

Construction with a jackhammer late at night would not be welcome in any neighborhood, but Atlanta Water officials said one homeowner took his displeasure to a radical level.

Officials said the resident emerged from his home and took the jackhammer from the employees. This was while the jackhammer was still running, said Lillian Govus from Atlanta Watershed.

The man identified as Ethan Brooks then allegedly picked up traffic marker cones and started swinging. The shocked employees did the best they could to dodge the blows. The tirade by the resident was captured on a cellphone camera.

Police responded and gave Brooks a trip to the Fulton County Jail. Authorities charged Brooks with simple battery and trespassing.
