Ocean Spray investigates viral videos claiming cranberry sauce cans were filled with water

Ocean Spray says it is investigating a handful of viral reports of cranberry sauce cans filled with water.

The videos recently surfaced on social media. 

What they're saying:

"We’re aware of a few reports about cans containing water instead of cranberry sauce, and we’re looking into how this may have happened," the company said in a statement to FOX Television Stations. "Millions of families enjoyed their cranberry sauce this holiday season, but even one can of sauce not meeting expectations matters to us." 

"We’ve reached out to the folks who shared these videos to learn more and make it right," the company added. 

The backstory:

Multiple videos surfaced over the weekend. 

In one video posted on TikTok, a user appeared to open up a can of cranberry sauce that was filled with water.  A person could be heard in the background saying "This is not possible."

The video amassed thousands of comments, reactions and shares. 

Another similar video was posted on TikTok, appearing to show the same mishap. 

Many commenters questioned if the videos were hoaxes, staged or the result of using artifical intelligence.
