Two crashes involving pedestrians were reported early Wednesday morning, causing lane closures and delays for metro Atlanta drivers.
ATLANTA - Two pedestrians were killed in separate crashes Wednesday morning, according to officials.
What we know:
The first deadly crash happened inside Atlanta city limits around 2:41 a.m. Wednesday. Police said they responded to Interstate 20 at the Interstate 75/85 ramp. When they arrived, they found a man dead in the roadway. Officials believe the man was crossing the highway when he was hit. Police said the first driver involved did not stay on the scene, but a second driver hit the man's body. That second driver is the one who called 911.
The second pedestrian died in a crash that happened around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday. The incident occurred on Interstate 285 westbound at Clark Howell in Clayton County and temporarily blocked all lanes. Clayton County police later confirmed that officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on I-285 westbound, and when they arrived, they found an individual in the road.
