Heavy rain fell across much of north Georgia early Friday morning and a second round of storms is expected this evening.

The FOX 5 Storm Team has been tracking severe weather all week as it moved its way through the South. The storms have produced, at times, small hail, lightning and gusty winds. No significant damage has been reported so far, but lightning from the storm may be to blame for a house fire in Cobb County overnight.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for areas south of Interstate 20 through Friday evening.

The watch runs until midnight Friday night/Saturday morning.

The cold front responsible for the storms will stall out over central Georgia.  Along the front, new thunderstorms will fire Friday afternoon, after 2 p.m. These should generally be focused along and southeast of Interstate 85. With them, a few damaging wind gusts are possible.
