K-9 deputy assists in recovering stolen firearms from home
BIBB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A number of stolen guns are now in the hands of the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, thanks to one of their K-9 deputies.
Deputies said investigators were searching an abandoned house known for drug activity Tuesday when K-9 Athena alerted to an old mattress behind the home.
Deputies checked it out and found four firearms, two of which showed as stolen.
The Bibb County Crime Lab is testing the guns and then they'll be returned to their owners.
