Gov. Deal unveils budget proposal

ATLANTA - Governor Deal also unveiled his budget proposal for next year on Thursday.

The 2019 budget is much larger at $26 billion. That's up from $25.3 billion this year.

High-ranking staff members said a large portion of next year's budget must go to shoring up the teachers' retirement system in order to maintain the state's AAA rating.
