Georgia Tech scientists develop contraceptive jewelry
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Could taking birth control be as simple as putting on a piece of jewelry?
That's what scientists at Georgia Tech are hoping.
They are developing special patches that attach to the back of jewelry like earrings, watches, and rings.
The patches contain contraceptive hormones that, once you put the jewelry on, are absorbed into the skin and distributed through the bloodstream.
Researchers are hoping this will make it easier for women to adhere to a birth control regimen.
No human trial have been conducted yet.
