The family of a 22-year-old man who loved church, family, and work is devastated someone gunned him down early Wednesday morning.

East Point Police said someone gunned down Trequan Morgan at the Texaco gas station on Delowe Drive.

The early morning shooting has stunned Morgan's family.

"Tre got a straight mindset. He doesn't bother anybody. Even when they bother him. He will laughter about it smile about it and be like ok," his brother Rae Morgan told FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor.

Family members said Trequan Morgan was easy going, always stayed to himself and never argued with anyone. That is why they are clinging to each other and having a tough time understanding who shot and killed the 22-year-old.

"He just stood out differently than everybody else. Anytime you lose somebody it is a void. No matter how you lose them," his older brother reflected.

East Point police said they recovered a white rental car on old Roosevelt Highway with bullet holes in it.

They believe the shooter was driving it early Wednesday morning when he silenced the dapper, compassionate guy who loved and protected his family and was active in his church, The Redemption Community Church.

"He ushered, sang, danced and he was the bodyguard. Somebody took our bodyguard," Rae reflected as he held back tears.

East Point police said they have interviewed several people, but have made no arrests.
