Driver killed after crashing into parked tractor-trailer on I-75, police say

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A 26-year-old Cartersville man was killed early Saturday morning after his vehicle drifted out of his lane and collided with a parked tractor-trailer along I-75 in Cobb County, according to police.

What we know:

The crash happened on I-75 North at I-575 North around 3:23 a.m.

Cobb County police said that Casey Price, 26, of Cartersville, was driving a gray SUV, traveling northbound in the right lane of I-75. 

A red tractor-trailer was parked in the paved median, separating I-75 North and I-575 North travel lanes. 

Police said that Price left his lane, entered the median and hit the right back side of the tractor-trailer. 

Price died at the scene. 

The tractor-trailer driver was not injured in the crash, authorities said. 

The Cobb County Police Department's traffic unit will investigate the crash. 

What we don't know:

It's unclear why Price left his lane of travel and entered the median area.

Police have not stated whether speed, impairment, or mechanical failure played a role in the crash.
