Coroner: Pike County football player suffered cardiac arrest
PIKE COUNTY, Ga. - The coroner has released the cause of death for a Pike County High School football player who died after taking a hit during a game last month.
The coroner said Dylan Thomas suffered cardiac arrest due to a traumatic brain injury and has ruled his death an accident.

The coroner described his injury as an anomaly and said nothing could have prevented his death.
Officials said the teen was in great physical shape and had no pre-existing medical conditions.
