Sergeant Ashley Henson was one of the first to arrive on the scene.

'The kids were all pretty upset," Henson said. "They were crying. It was pretty disturbing. They were looking at their bus driver on the side of the road."

The wreck happened around 7:15 a.m. on February 17 at the intersection of Nathan Dean Boulevard and Merchants Drive in Dallas.

According to investigators, Moreland was trying to make a left-hand turn when a pickup truck, operated by Martin, was traveling straight, and that's when the two vehicles collided.

First responders transported eight children to Paulding Hospital in stable condition and two other children were taken to the hospital by their parents.

Three adults, including Preschool van driver Tracy Moreland, and two men in the pickup truck, were also injured and taken to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Their injuries were described as "serious."

WATCH as authorities cleared the scene

Police told FOX 5 the daycare bus took quite a beating, rolling over at least once. Investigators said the children were visibly upset, both from the wreck itself and from seeing their bus driver injured on the ground.

We reached out to Paulding Preparatory Academy, they did not want to speak on camera, but told FOX 5 off camera hat they are happy everyone is okay.
