Cause of death released for man found dead inside beer cooler at SunTrust Park

Cobb County officials have released the cause of death for a man whose body was found in a beer cooler at SunTrust Park in late June.

Todd Keeling’s death was ruled an “accident as a result of carbon dioxide exposure,” according to the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office on Thursday. Keeling’s body was found in a walk-in cooler at the ballpark on June 26.

The 48-year-old White Bear Lake, Minnesota resident was working as a third-party contractor installing a new system which helps pour beers quicker. He was installing the system the day he was found dead, according to the contractor. His body was found in one of the vendor areas before the first pitch of the Braves-Reds game

Because of the ruling by the medical examiner’s office, no criminal charges will be pursued.
