Friends and family of 18-year-old Jaquille Thomas and 19-year-old Angelique Bowman gathered at the Arbors at Jackson Creek subdivision off of Jimmy Carter Blvd.
It wasn't far from where the bodies of the two teens were discovered Monday morning. Gwinnett County Police say they responded to the subdivision when a survey crew discovered the body of Jaquille between two homes.
Then investigators said about ninety minutes later they received a call of a theft at the subdivision clubhouse. They discovered the body of Angelique nearby in an SUV.
Jaquille's mother, Arnisha Winfrey said Angelique had moved into her home about a year ago. She said the death of the two teens was like a double whammy because she lost both of her kids.
She said Jaquille and Angelique had been dating about a year. But she did not know what they were doing at the subdivision when the teens were shot to death.
She said Jaquille was a recent graduate of Parkview High School with aspirations of becoming a musician. She asked anyone with leads or tips in the double murder to give police a call. Gwinnett County Police told FOX 5 News they are reviewing surveillance video to hopefully find the killer or killers.
Police hope a $2,000 Crime Stoppers Reward will help them track down important leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact 404-577-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
