A Fulton County judge granted bond to the driver accused of running over and killing a man during an argument in July.

Bryan Keith Schmitt, 48, was indicted last month on murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault charges.

Prosecutors said on July 30 around 5:39 p.m., Schmitt drove his 2011 Mercedes CLS550 towards the sidewalk along River Valley Road where 60-year-old Hamid Jahangard was walking and striking him. Jahangard was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Police said the incident was sparked by an argument after Schmitt thought Jahangard threw a golf ball at his Mercedes.

Friday, the judge granted Schmitt a $500,000 bond with several other restrictions.

No word on his next court appearance.
